Presidency School, Nandini Layout
The students of Presidency School, Nandini Layout presented a show on the Navarasas, the nine emotions, at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall. Bangalore City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari inaugurated the first session. The show, spread over two days gave an opportunity for all the 1746 students of the school to perform on stage.
The first session began with an introduction to a range of emotions. Students mimed the formation of a lotus and the unfolding of its petals. The piece was choreographed to remind the audience that the emotions often rule peoples’ behaviour. The children depicted all the navarasas – shringara, hasya, karuna, raudram, veera, bhaya, adbhutha, bhibhatsa and shanta through various dance forms.
The children also put up a piece on the relationship between colour and the emotions.
Mr. Bidari spoke on the importance of imparting quality education to students and said that it prepares children to face global challenges.
Nissar Ahmed, the chairman of the Presidency Group of Institutions, the Principal J. Bhuvaneshwari, and the directors were present.
