Darshan, Vikas share honours

Fine all-round shows by SS Darshan and U Vikas halped their respective teams Presidency School (Nandini Layout) and St Joseph’s Indian High School take control of the proceedings on the opening day of the two-day quarterfinals in the Boost Cup under-17 inter-school tournament here on Thursday.
Darshan’s batting display (78 in the first innings and 27 batting in the second) coupled with his two for five powered Presidency to a commanding position against Parachute Regiment School.
Presidency, put up a healthy 276 for six in their stipulated 55 overs and then skittled PRS for 102. Having gained a 174-run lead, Presidency increased the lead to 283 finishing their second innings at 109 for three in 16 overs. In the other quarterfinal, after helping SJIHS bowl Frank Anthony Public School out for 201 in 54 overs with a four for 53, Vikas hit 73 to help his team make 209 for six.
