Presidency School, Nandini Layout and RT Nagar to clash in final
Presidency School, Nandini Layout and RT Nagar made it to the finals of the Pollu Umrigar Trophy for under-16 Inter-State Tournament after winning their matches on Thursday.
Played at the Perinthalmanna, Kerala, Presidency School, Nandini Layout outclassed St. Andrew School by three wickets in the first semifinal match. Nishchal D (56) and Pawan (60) were the top scorers for the winning team. Meanwhile, Hyderabad Public School lost to Presidency School, RT Nagar by nine wickets. Played at Palakkad, the Hyderabd School put up a total of 123 runs. In reply, Presidency School, RT Nagar successfully chased the score in just 21 overs with Pritvi Singh Shekawat scoring an unbeaten 65 and Virendar Singh's 40.
The finals will be help on Saturday at Palakkad.

Good day for city schools

It was a good day for the city schools as both of the Bangalore schools won their respective matches in the Polly Umrigar Trophy for under-16 inter school tournament. While Presidency School, Nandini Layout beat Mahila and Newton HS, Goa by nine wickets, Presidency School, RT Nagar got the better of St. Andrew's High School from Hyderabad by eight wickets.
In the first match played at the IAF ground, an all round performance by D Nischal helped the Presidency School, outplay their Goan counterparts. Batting first Mahila and Newton HS were skittled out for just 119. Nischal was the pick of the bowlers as he grabbed three wickets for just eight runs, while Naresh Mengaji picked up three for 18 runs. In reply, Nischal scored an unbeaten 50 including nine boundaries as the hosts romped home in just 19 overs with nine wickets in hand.

Presidency School, Nandini Layout won their second successive match in the Polly Umrigar trophy for under-16 inter school tournament as they beat Hyderabad Public School by 84 runs on Thursday. Batting first, Presidency School were all out for 208, with Pavan scoring 76 for his side. Anurag and Varun Bhardwaj also chipped in with useful 40 and 30 runs respectively. Defending this modest total, the Presidency bowlers led by Sahil went for the kill right from the first ball and succeeded in sending all the Hyderabad batsmen back to the pavilion for just 124 runs. Sahil picked up six wickets for 33 runs.
